Objectives

Over all development of the project area through cooperative efforts in the Agriculture and allied sectors including fishery, poultry, handloom, rural industries etc. in an integrated manner. 

Salient features

The scheme aims to strengthen existing primary cooperative societies and other functional cooperatives, to develop PACS as multi purpose entities, to improve existing cooperative structure including modernization and upgradation of management of cooperatives.

Pattern of assistance

Financial assistance is provided to the cooperative societies through State Governments in the form of loan as well as subsidy.

Eligibility

Primary agricultural credit societies and other special purpose cooperative Primary societies.

Procedure to apply

Name of the districts to be covered is decided by the State Govt. – project report is finalized by the State Govt. (State Cooperation Department/independent consultant) – The report is forwarded to NCDC by the State Govt. – NCDC mounts appraisal mission on the project report – finally NCDC sanctions assistance to the eligible coop. Societies.
