Reclamation project Phase-II
The U.P. Sodic Land Reclamation Project Phase-II
is being implemented in Uttar Pradesh with World Bank Assistance since
March, 1999 at an estimated
cost of Rs.1296.51 crores for the reclamation of 1.5 lakh ha.
The project was to end in September, 2005.
An area of 1.27 lakh ha. has
been reclaimed with an expenditure of Rs. 759.23 crores till date.
Now the World Bank
has extended this project upto September, 2007 for utilizing the savings
under the project for treatment of sodic lands.
